"Riding a race bike is an art - a thing that you do because you feel something inside"

History of Lance Armstrong

First of all cycling is one of my passion, it is a sport or activity of riding a bicycle. Lance Armstrong is the reason why I started riding, for he is my inspiration and motivation every time I take a ride. Lance Armstrong was born on September 18,1971 in Plano, Texas, at the age of 10 years old  he took up competitive cycling and triathlons, which combines a 1000 meter swim and a 15 mile bike ride, he was the champion in that specific event. His first race event as a professional cyclist happened on 1990 for the United States junior world team and placed 11 in the World Championship Race unexpectedly, because it was his first time to join and compete in an international race event for the cyclists. After his first competitive race, he won two major races, the Thrift Drug Classic and  the First union Grand pix including many professional cyclists that he beat in the two major races. In 1992 he  joined the Motorola Cycling professional team, in this team he won 10 day events and stage races then his breakthrough victory was the World Road Race Championship held in Norway.  In the next two years of his professional career, he won again the Thrift Drug Classic and came second in the Tour Dupont that was held in the United States. Fabio Casartelli his friend  who crashed and died on the descent of the Col De Portet d' Aspet on the 15th stage became his motivation to win the overall victory in the penultimate Tour DuPont, after the awarding of the rewards Lance Armstrong pointed to the sky in honor of his friend Casartelli. Then suddenly Lance Armstrong after two years again diagnose with a stage three cancer in the embryonal carcinoma way back 1996. The cancer had spread in his brain, lungs and lastly abdomen, his survival was almost zero percent that time. He went to the Indiana University medical center in Indianapolis to leave the rest of his treatment there. After all the operations he encountered, by the grace of God Lance Armstrong declared cancer free on February 1997.  "Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.  After a year of resting, he decided to comeback in cycling again and it began in 1998 when he finished fourth place in the Vuelta a Espana. In the years between 1999 up to 2005 he received many awards for winning a bunch of event in his professional career, but on 2005 he decided to retire after the 2005 Tour De France race.  Three years after 2005, he announced on September 9, 2008 a comeback to his professional career.  his first race after announcing his comeback was in 2009 Vuelta a Castilla y Leon and his last race was held on January 11 in the event of  Tour Down Under.  Then, Armstrong announced his retirement from competitive cycling 'for good' on February 16, 2011. Most of his races, he always used a TREK branded bike for it was always his sponsored bike.  The lesson in the life of Lance Armstrong is you should always think positive and do not give up to the problems that you will encountered in your life, Lastly, always trust in God for your own good.
